Insights

After five weeks of Summer Bridge, I have learned alot. Although I can not place all of my thoughts onto this post, I would like to say that attitude is everything. Sure, we've heard this plenty of times in the past, but now is the time to actually live up to it. College is going to be a tough cycle, but attitude will provide as motivation to keep truckin. In addition to my first insight, I have also been enlightened on the fact that college isn't something to be taken advantage of. This program passed by fast, and I have experienced the realization that a more serious approach is necessary when pursuing a higher education.
Its a sickening feeling when you know that you did not give something your best. Doing my best will be my greatest challenge. Words cannot replace the internal pain which lies in the gut of your stomache when you're sure that you sold yourself short. I can relate. It sucks. Do your best.

What is up my fellow summer bridgers! Well, before I begin to introduce you to a portion of my life story, I would like to start with my basic background. Born and raised in the Harbor Area of Los Angeles, California, I was the son to a single mother. San Pedro, California is the town which I consider to be home. For those who are unfamiliar with its location, just look it up and you will find out that it is the neighboring city to Long Beach, California. No, I don't know Snoop Dogg. However, although I have spent the first fifteen years of my life growing up in San Pedro, life eventually placed me onto a different road. Towards the end of junior high school, I was given the opportunity to relocate with my aunt and uncle in Temecula, California. It was during this time period where I would choose to attend the local high school. Honestly, my present circumstances would not exist if I had not attended this school. The Man up above has allowed me to enjoy the experiences which have occured and has blessed me with the opportunity to further extend my education. Vista Murrieta High School rocked. Enough with the boring facts which you will eventually forget, let me tell you something which hopefully intrigues you. My Hollywood crush? Vida Guerra. It would not be necessary(or appropriate) to expalin the reasons behind my opinions. My choice of major? Visual art. Sure, it may not be the most popular of majors, nor may it lead me to find the highest paying job, but it will take me somewhere which is arguably the most strived for position in life; being happy. My dreams? I want to be a well-rounded artist. Consistency is a characteristic which I have always had trouble obtaining, therefore it is my biggest fear of college. I came to college to extend my capacity for obtaining knowledge. Well, you're probably wondering why I am beginning to write short sentences. Its because my roomates are rushing me to get off of their computer and go to the swimming pool. His name is Juan Martinez. Later!
